Village in the Shade Fish Locations: Choosing the Right Fishing Spot

Village in the Shade has several fishing areas, so one village river is not the answer for every species.

Is there one place to catch every fish?

No single river location should be treated as the complete fishing system. The Neoseeker fishing reference distinguishes spots such as Village Creek, Crossroads, Mountain Foot, Mountain Pond, Waterfall, and Quarry. Its list is a work in progress, so an omitted entry is not proof that a fish cannot appear.

The useful first step is to identify the species you actually need. Match its displayed name with the place shown on your own map. Early Japanese guides may use different English translations for the same location.

Why does the requested species matter?

Yoh’s Yamame Trout request illustrates the difference. Raider King’s documented route directs the player to Mountain Foot after a rock-blocked path near the Hunting Lodge has been opened. Continuing to fish at the initial village spot is not an equivalent solution.

Use the dedicated Yamame guide for those steps. This overview does not claim that the same quest or unlock opens every fishing area.

What should you record during a fishing trip?

  • The exact spot name shown on the map.
  • The fish’s in-game name and whether it is the requested species.
  • The season and time when you caught it.
  • Whether bait was used, without assuming that bait guarantees a result.

Those details help distinguish an observed catch from an assumed spawn rule. A screenshot of a river or a successful catch does not, by itself, establish a complete seasonal table or an exact probability.

How do you fit fishing into the day?

Choose a reachable spot and a clear target before leaving the farm. Keep room for the catch and any item needed for a villager request. If the desired route is blocked, investigate the relevant progression task rather than spending days repeatedly casting at an unrelated location.
